Dexter was found on the side of the road after being the victim of a cruel hit-and-run. Thankfully, Dr. Dana rushed him to the hospital, where they saved his life. Unfortunately, one of his legs couldn’t be saved and had to be amputated — but that hasn’t stopped Dexter from living his best life!
Dexter is now a healthy, happy, and incredibly sweet boy. He gets around wonderfully on three legs and has the brightest smile and the kindest heart. Dexter absolutely loves people and would make a loving addition to any family.
He is ready for his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who has overcome so much and still wags his tail with joy, Dexter is your boy.

Meet Nero
A Story of Survival, Hope, and Healing
When we first found him, we named him Nero. A heavy chain was tightly embedded around his neck—a cruel reminder of a forgotten past. This chain had been placed on him when he was just a small, innocent puppy. But as Nero grew, the chain did not. It remained, biting deeper and deeper into his flesh with each passing day. By the time we found him, the wounds were severe. He had been living in excruciating pain for over a year.
Thanks to the swift action of our team at Angels with Paws, Nero was rescued and rushed to the hospital. With expert veterinary care, patience, and love, Nero began his journey of healing. Today, he is a healthy, joyful dog—free from pain and finally treated with the kindness he always deserved.
This transformation didn’t happen by chance—it happened because Angels with Paws never gives up. We work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals like Nero every single day. From emergency medical interventions to emotional recovery, we commit to each animal’s full journey back to life.

Our Mission
Angels with Paws LB is more than a shelter—it’s a sanctuary of hope, healing, and second chances. Nestled in the mountains of Hammana, Lebanon, our rescue currently cares for over 450 dogs, each with a story of survival, strength, and resilience.
Founded by Dr. Dana Aboulhosn, a devoted veterinarian and lifelong animal advocate, Angels with Paws was born out of love, necessity, and a promise: no animal should suffer alone. For over five years, Dr. Dana has worked tirelessly—answering calls day and night, rescuing animals from the streets, nursing the sick, feeding the hungry, and giving the voiceless a place to feel safe, often at the cost of her own savings and well-being.
A Lifeline in Crisis
Lebanon’s economic crisis has placed immense strain on people and animals alike. As resources dwindle and costs soar, the most vulnerable are left behind. The burden of food, clean water, veterinary care, and shelter has become overwhelming for one person to bear. Yet every day, the team at Angels with Paws LB shows up—because the animals have no one else.
Last winter, part of our shelter was destroyed, leaving over 200 dogs exposed to freezing temperatures and harsh conditions. With only a thin tarp separating them from the elements, rebuilding has become critical. But construction costs—even as little as $700—are now out of reach without help.
